Mikel Arteta could be set to be receive a major blow to his long-term plans at Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window. The Gunners are under pressure to include a release clause in Bukayo Saka's next contract, with talks over a new deal set to start after the season has finished.
The 20-year-old has featured 37 times for the north London outfit in the Premier League this season, directly contributing towards 17 goals. His impressive displays have steered Arsenal within touching distance of Champions League qualification, and thus attracting the interest from several top-flight sides in Europe.
Italian outlet Calciomercato reported in September that Saka, whose current deal at the Emirates Stadium expires in nearly two years, courted the interest of Juventus and Atletico Madrid. At the time, the report claimed that Arsenal would not be prepared to sell the England international for anything less £43million.
