NEW DELHI: The East Delhi Municipal Corporatio (EDMC) will hire a private concessionaire to revamp the busy Karkardooma Market and upgrade its public plaza, parking area, toilets and footpaths.
The development work, which will cost about Rs 5 crore and is likely to be completed in 6-12 months, will be carried out on a build-operate-transfer basis, with the concessionaire taking care of upkeep for 15 years. The corporation has received anticipatory approval from the commissioner and will now seek permission from the mayor before initiating the tender process.
