NEW DELHI: To improve the skills of primary school teachers, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation has signed an MoU with an NGO for conducting evaluation and training programmes.
The exercise will include group discussions, personal interviews, classroom observation and written assessment of the teachers to improve their communication skills. However, the move has been opposed by the teachers' union, who claim that the process raises questions over the DSSSB process. They say a private organisation can’t perform the function of a government organisation. They also claimed to have written to the EDMC commissioner and asked the teachers to not participate in the process.
