Edinburgh woman's dream to start 'barber academy' to help ex-convicts

An Edinburgh barber is hoping to break the stigma surrounding ex-convicts by creating a new salon and academy that employs them.

Lisa Wright, a local barber of over ten years, is planning on creating the new hair academy, that will not only cut hair for the homeless for free, but employ men that cannot get a job elsewhere.

After realising how difficult it can be for those with a criminal record to get back into work, Lisa told Edinburgh Live she wants to make a safe space that can teach valuable skills.
