An Edinburgh woman has been rushed to hospital after falling out of a taxi in front of the Playhouse theatre.
The incident happened on Greenside Place at the top of Leith Walk on Saturday, May 13 at 10.15pm. Shocked witnesses said the woman, believed to be around 60 years-old suffered a head injury in the fall.
Concerned passers-by phoned the Scottish Ambulance Service and paramedics were dispatched to the scene. She was then taken to the Royal Infirmary.

One witness told Edinburgh Live the woman "fell backwards from a taxi" near to the theatre. They added: "We haven’t stopped thinking about her since and wanted to know if she was okay."
There were no further details as to the woman's injuries, her current condition or whether she remains in hospital.

A spokesperson from the Scottish Ambulance Service, said: "We received a call to attend an incident at Greenside Place in Edinburgh on Saturday. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one female patient to hospital.”
Police Scotland also attended the scene of the incident and provided road traffic management.
