Emergency services rushed to Edinburgh city centre on Saturday, March 11, after a woman was hit by a bus.
She was rushed to hospital following a crash on St Andrew Square at around 12.15pm on Saturday. The area was busy with shoppers and Lothian buses warned of delays as the area was closed off while emergency services attended the scene.
Police Scotland and the ambulance service scrambled to the area and the female pedestrian was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where she is receiving treatment.

The incident led to heavy traffic in the city centre for the next hour and a number of buses were diverted during lunch time.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving a bus and a pedestrian on South St Andrew Street, Edinburgh, around 12.25pm on Saturday, 11 March, 2023. The female pedestrian was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh Hospital for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”
