Edinburgh woman in stitches after receiving £90 'dream' dress she ordered online

An Edinburgh woman was left in fits of laughter after the 'once in a lifetime' dress she ordered online had finally arrived.

Rachel Brown told Edinburgh Live she had seen the incredible gown in a Facebook advert, and had clicked through to the 'Charmanton' site to see how much it would cost.

Pictured on a stunning model, the outfit featured an incredible beaded top with long sleeves, that connected to a cascading skirt of feathers down one side.

Although not in desperate need of the dress, Rachel said she had been taken in by the unique design, and had decided to purchase it knowing that she "would find somewhere to wear it."

With the price originally coming up in dollars, the gown had been reduced in price, and was advertised to cost around £90.

Quickly taking the chance to buy it, it was only after she entered her PayPal details that Rachel started to believe the website may actually be a scam.

Contacting PayPal she was given a refund and had expected the dress would never turn up, however on Monday the 'real dress' arrived on her doorstep.

Rachel said: "When I ordered it, I don't know what it was but I had a sinking feeling the minute I ordered it that something wasn't right.

"I saw the dress and thought it was just one in a lifetime, and I was sure something would come up to wear it to.

"I started to search the site and there was loads of complaints about them, so I raised a ticket with PayPal immediately, and they gave me a refund for it."

Opening up the package, the real version of the dress was instantly visible, with the cheap silver creation only fitting Rachel in the top, with the skirt not even going past her hips.

With the skirt so short, the back is also completely featherless, a far cry from the red carpet gown she had hoped for.

"I didn't think it would arrive and then it did and it looks absolutely nothing like the picture, it's just been moulting those feather things all over my hall so there's more on the floor than there is on the dress now.

"It doesn't even cover everything, it's an awful version of it, but I posted it on Facebook and it's had hundreds of likes, so it's nice to see it's given so many people a laugh."
