Edinburgh wine fair promises 'tempting samples' with TV star host this weekend

An event for wine lovers in Edinburgh is coming to the city centre, hosted by TV wine expert and author Oz Clarke.

Edinburgh Uncorked will see an array of exhibitors gather in the Assembly Rooms on George Street, kicking off at midday on June 3. Guests will be able to sample as they walk, or gain more 'in-depth' knowledge of the wines during a masterclass.

Tickets are priced at £30, and include a sample of every wine at the event. Visitors can also expect to be heading home with a few treats.

Ahead of the event, organisers said: "Oz loves sharing the pleasure of wine and will be mingling with guests to introduce everyone to the vast array of wines on offer – from great value mid-week bottles to wines for special occasions.

"Edinburgh Uncorked will welcome a superb line up of exhibitors from small independents to larger retailers and well-known popular producers – all of whom will be bringing a great range for you to taste. Many of the wines will be available to purchase on the day or to order and there’ll be various special show offers too.

"It’s a fantastic chance to come and meet producers along with those closely involved with the wines – an ideal time to find out more about some of your favourites as well as a great opportunity to make some new discoveries. In addition to the main walkaround tasting there will be masterclasses to enjoy to get some more in-depth knowledge on some of the wines at the show.

"There are two sessions to choose from, either 12-3 pm or 4-7 pm. Tickets are £30 and include the opportunity to taste a sample of every wine at the event along with some great offers to tempt you to take your favourites home with you."
