Yellow weather warnings have been issued for Edinburgh over the next seven days as the capital prepares to be battered by heavy rain and blustery conditions caused by Storm Dudley.
Locals would be well advised to have the waterproofs on for much of the week, but Wednesday and Thursday have been singled out by Met Office forecasters as the peak of the inclement weather - with winds reaching 70mph.
Experts warn an "active jet stream will drive a series of low-pressure systems across the country" during the next few days, while a "period of very strong winds" is expected towards the end of the week.

A yellow warning has been put in place provisionally for windy conditions on those days, with temperatures not expected to rise above nine degrees.
A light dusting of snow may follow overnight between Thursday and Friday before a calm, but cold weekend.
The forecast reads: "Mainly dry with some bright or sunny spells.
