The capital has been caught in a torrential downpour on Tuesday lunchtime with showers persisting into the afternoon - so when are the skies likely to clear?
Rain is set to continue on Wednesday in Edinburgh however clouds will not be as thick or rain as heavy with clear skies expected by the evening.
The bad weather is set to clear up later tonight with cloud cover remaining for the next couple of days, clear skies not expected to return until Wednesday evening around 7pm according to the Met Office.

Heavy rain is set to end by 4pm with only a 10 percent chance of precipitation from then on and less than five percent chance at 5pm and after 9pm, there is set to be an average of around 17C for the rest of the day.
Wednesday is set to bring temperatures of up to 20C from 1pm through to 6pm, however there is a 30-40 percent chance of rain at 11-12am and 2-3pm. There will be a lack of cloud cover all the way from 7pm on Wednesday through to 4pm on Thursday.
Temperatures tomorrow are expected to be 17C as early as 9am tomorrow so warm weather is expected to continue long throughout the week in the capital set to reach 21C on Thursday.
The night temperatures are still high with lows of 14C at 4-5am and an average of about 15C from 11pm tonight through to 6am tomorrow.
The remainder of the week will remain mostly warm with highs in the low 20s expected all week with an expected 23C on Saturday, set to be the highest of the week.
After Thursday, rain is not expected until Sunday afternoon in Edinburgh and the temperature during the day is not set to drop below 16C all week.
