Rail operators have warned passengers against travelling between Edinburgh and London as parts of England bear the brunt of snow and wind caused by Storm Eunice.
Certain services between the Scottish and English capitals are being subjected to delays of more than two hours while others have been cancelled due to “severe” conditions.
Speed restrictions have been put in place between Yorkshire and the south of England with services limited to just 50mph.

London North East Railway (LNER) urged customers with tickets for Friday to travel on Saturday instead or get a refund due to expected disruption and damage.
Amber weather warnings are in place across the whole of England from 5am to 9pm on Friday, while yellow weather warnings - the next level down - for wind and snow are in force for a large part of Scotland where blizzards are predicted.
Routes between Edinburgh, Newcastle and York are not set to be affected, however LNER warned that could change later in the day.
Despite the snow forecast, ScotRail said it does not expect the same levels of disruption from Storm Eustice as from Storm Dudley but has pre-emptively announced some trains will not be running.
Glasgow and Edinburgh trains to Arbroath and Montrose to Aberdeen services will not run because sets of points on the line that allow trains to move tracks are not fitted with heaters, meaning they could freeze and get stuck.
Network Rail Scotland announced it has five locomotives fitted with snow ploughs to use as required, it is proactively spraying de-icer on key junctions and extra staff will be deployed to deal with any problems.

The Met Office yellow alert for Friday warns there is a chance of travel delays on roads, possibly with stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel and a slight chance that some rural communities could be temporarily cut off.
The forecast for Edinburgh on Friday reads: "A cold and cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow, snow mainly on hills.
"Some drier interludes too. Windy this afternoon with strong to gale northwesterly winds.
"Maximum temperature 4 °C."
