Edinburgh locals with seasonal allergies are set to face a challenging week - as the Met Office predicts a rare “very high” pollen count.
Those with hay fever are no strangers to being forced indoors and closing their windows to avoid airborne pollen.
However, the Met Office forecast shows it could be another tricky week for those with the allergy, with consistently high pollen across the week and a spike on Wednesday and Thursday.

The city has been enjoying hot and humid weather for the last couple of weeks with temperatures peaking at 23C this week, but with the hot temperatures comes a high pollen count across the week that will likely force those with hay fever inside.
The published pollen count from Tuesday until Saturday shows that there will be high pollen every day except on Wednesday and Thursday.
On these days, the prediction is set to climb as the Met Office forecasts a very high pollen count.
According to The Met Office, the highest levels of pollen currently around are from grasses and nettles, although there is also some tree pollen.

Despite the high pollen count, temperatures are set to stay high throughout the week, reaching into the low 20s from Wednesday until Sunday.
However, the Met Office still warns of heavy showers most days and the weather to feel cool thanks to a brisk westerly wind.
