Edinburgh weather: Exact time rain will hit capital on showery Thursday

It is set to be a rainy day in Edinburgh on Thursday according to BBC Weather.

The forecaster has stated that tomorrow will see "a cloudy and wet start to the day, with showery outbreaks of rain".

It will be a relatively cold start today, with temperatures hovering around 6 degrees Celsius until 9am.

After this, the capital will gradually warm up throughout the remainder of the morning and early afternoon — peaking at 9C at around 2pm.

By this time, "light rain" is expected in the city according to BBC Weather, and it will hang around for the remainder of the day.

By 5pm, temperatures will begin to fall as well, dropping gradually throughout the evening to a low of 5C.

Overnight, things look to get even colder, with the mercury falling to 3C by 4am, though the rain will start to clear by this time.

According to BBC Weather, Friday is expected to be a slightly brighter affair, with "sunny intervals" forecast throughout the morning and afternoon.

It will also be a relatively mild day in the city, with temperatures reaching a peak of 8C just after midday.
