Edinburgh voted fourth most expensive city in UK for a night out in 2022 list

Edinburgh has been voted as the fourth most expensive city in the UK for a night out.

The capital city made it onto the top ten most expensive cities in the UK list, compiled by IndeJuice, by looking at things like the average price for a pint of beer.

The study also looked at prices for fast-food and travel fares on short taxis rides.

It might not come as much of a surprise to many that E dinburgh is the most expensive place in Scotland for a night out.

Finding somewhere that serves a pint for under £5 can be challenging in the city centre, and this is reflected on the list.

Just as Edinburgh being ranked highest in Scotland comes as no surprise, southern England being the most expensive down south is not exactly shocking either.

IndeJuice’s study looked at prices for a pint of beer, a cocktail, a fast-food meal and a taxi fare, with London coming it at a total average cost of £49.66 for a night out.

Following the capital was Oxford with £42.30, Brighton in third place at £37.12 and Edinburgh came in at fourth at £36.36.

Indejuice discovered that the average price of a pint in Edinburgh is £5.10, with cocktails at £9 and the average fast-food meal comes in at £5.26.

However, the price of a five mile taxi ramps the cost of a night out up, with the average in Edinburgh being a whopping £17.

Glasgow at ninth place and Aberdeen in at tenth were the only other Scottish cities to make the top ten, with the respective costs at £32.49 and £32.29.

In better news for Scotland, Dundee was named the cheapest place in the UK for a night out.

Another list by IndeJuice discovered that an average night out in the city costs just £25.35.

The average pint of beer comes in at just £3.08, with the average five mile taxi fare costs £10.

However, it should be noted that IndeJuice’s night out involves just two drinks and a fast food meal.

A big night out in Edinburgh might just cost two or three times that, as most residents will already know.
