A TikTok slamming Edinburgh’s ‘overrated’ drinking spots has gone viral.
The video, posted on Monday, has gained 42,000 views in less than a day. It was posted by VeganSoph, who uploads regular clips on vegan food around the city.
Sophia, who runs a vegan food review Instagram, said: “Let's start with WhyNot.

“Why would you? The bouncers are mean, and their nights are so bad.
“Candy Bar gets a lot of hype on TikTok and Instagram, and it is awful. I’ve been going since I was 16 and I’ve not been a single time where something hasn’t gone wrong.
“They’ve forgotten the booking twice, birthday bookings by the way. They gave my vegetarian friend chicken, food hasn’t arrived, it's a no from me.
“The next place I love, but there’s one thing I don’t love about it. Finnegan's bouncers.
“If you’re a regular at Finnegan's, you’ll know the bouncer I mean. You literally go to walk in, and he barks ‘ID’ at you.
“It’s as if he works on commission or something. I do love Finnegan's, but make sure you split into smaller groups to walk in.”
While the likes were flooding in on Sophia’s video, not everyone was in agreement. One user commented: “We don’t tolerate WhyNot slander here. Flare till we die.”
WhyNot, Candy Bar and Finnegan's Wake have all been approached for comment.
