Edinburgh teen found out he had brain tumour after concussion on football pitch

A teen from Edinburgh discovered he had a brain tumour after suffering a concussion during a football game.

17-year-old Kyle McPherson, from Longstone, had taken a knock to the head from a ball during a match in May 2021. At first, he felt fine but when it came to taking a penalty he felt dizzy and had distorted vision which led to a trip to the hospital.

Kyle was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh to be checked over when brain scans picked up abnormal symptoms unrelated to the injury. Later that night, the then 16-year-old was given the terrifying news that he had a brain tumour.
