Modern Family fans would’ve been shocked if they strolled into Edinburgh's Subway Cowgate on Sunday, with Nolan Gould making a surprise appearance at the club.
The actor, who played Luke Dunphy in the hit TV show for 11 years, was snapped while enjoying a night out in the Cowgate. The nightclub posted a picture to their Instagram account today, with the caption: “Even the celebs have heard about Subway's famous venoms.”
Subway’s General Manager, Mark Walker, told Edinburgh Live: “Nolan came in last night with a couple of his friends.

“He was lovely with our customers and staff, happy to take pictures and everything. He even bagged himself one of our Viva La 5am fringe hoodies.
“We hope he had a great time sampling our famous venoms.”
Over on Nolan’s Instagram account, he posted a snap taken up Arthur’s Seat - looking windswept. He captioned the post: “I look like one of them Scottish cows.
“Side note: If you have a highland cow I’d very much like to pet it.”
Edinburgh locals took to the comment section to express their excitement, with one user commenting: “I live in Edinburgh and I’m such a big fan of you and Modern Family, I’m actually watching it right now.”
While many know the actor as the dim-witted young Dunphy brother, you might struggle to recognise him in real life. Last year, People magazine shared new images of Nolan - looking all grown up.
During the pandemic, Nolan decided to work on both his ‘body and mindset’. Speaking to People, he said: “I’ve been working out an hour-and-a-half every day with my friend Michael who is a personal trainer.
“We have a really cool socially-distant setup that has allowed me to get fit while also being safe. It’s been nice.”
“Especially being unemployed in quarantine, having a reason to get up and stay motivated. It’s been something that’s been very healthy and positive for me in quarantine, it’s really changed my outlook.”
Whether or not Nolan has now left Edinburgh is unclear, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re out and about.
