An Edinburgh southside retail unit is set to be converted into a huge multi-storey restaurant.
A change of use application has been submitted to the City of Edinburgh Council by the current Managing Director of Poundsavers, which occupies the building, who is looking to turn all four floors into an eatery.
The huge building, at number 37-41 is currently in use as retail on the ground floor, but has a further three floors above that, according the plans, could be used for private and public dining areas.

The building also has a lift to access all floors which could be utilised to allow for disabled access and large stock.
The name of the restaurant or type of cuisine it will specialise in has been kept tight-lipped by the applicant, but a proposed floor plan has disclosed how the premises would be set out.
Located on the ground floor would be the spacious kitchen and food preparation area. The rest of the ground floor space would be used for restaurant dining as well as the entire first floor.
On the second floor, the applicant wishes to implement a private dining area for specific functions and events. The third and final floor has been labelled as space for 'restaurant admin'.
According to the plans, the first, second and third floors are currently in use for storage, with toilets already present. The application will now be considered by planning officers. You can view the plans here.
