A number of Edinburgh shoppers were left stunned on Thursday after spotting Princess Anne making a VIP visit to the St James Quarter.
Arriving on September 29, the Princess Royal attended the city's latest shopping quarter and was seen taking a tour around the stores as well as speaking to shoppers.
A large crowd had gathered outside the Leith Street entrance on Thursday afternoon, as the Lord Provost, Cllr Robert Aldridge, gave a welcome speech to Princess Anne, before she was seen unveiling a plaque.

Accompanied by a security team, the Princess then toured the building and was seen heading down the escalators as well as popping into the likes of John Lewis and Zara.
Chatting to store staff and stopping for pictures with customers, the visit is the second time Princess Anne has been in the capital in just a few weeks, after arriving in Edinburgh following the death of her mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
After passing away on the Balmoral Estate, the Princess Royal had accompanied her mother's coffin to Edinburgh, where it lay in Holyrood for one night before a procession took place on the Royal Mile.
Lying in rest for 24 hours at St Giles Cathedral, Princess Anne then followed the coffin to Edinburgh Airport where it was taken onboard an RAF flight to London, which became the most tracked flight in history.
The visit to the St James Quarter fell on the same day part of the Queen's official death certificate was released, which had been signed by the Princess Royal.
Confirming the Queen's time of death as being 3.10pm on September 8, her cause of death was listed as 'old age', with no additional causes mentioned.
