An Edinburgh Scotmid worker was rushed to hospital after a robber threatened staff at knifepoint.
The female staff member was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment after an individual had entered the local convenience store on Gorgie Road.
Taking place shortly before 7.15pm on Sunday evening (December 11), police are now carrying out "extensive enquiries" into the incident, which saw the shop closed for a number of hours.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 7.15pm on Sunday, 11 December, 2022, officers were called to a report of a robbery at a shop in Gorgie Road, Edinburgh.

"One woman was injured as a result of the incident and was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.
"Officers are currently carrying out extensive enquiries."
