Scotland’s First Ever Fish and Chips Awards launches next week and the organisers are asking the people of Edinburgh to help by nominating their favourite capital chippies.
Taking place on National Chip Week, the new awards, which are run by the team behind the well-established Scottish-Italian Awards, are seeking the very best chippies in Scotland.
With the awards driven by the public, people from the capital will be able to vote on the places that they think are worthy of the win.
Whether it be thanks to the crunchiest batter, freshest fish and tastiest chips or even excelling at sustainability or being part of the community, everyone can vote for their favourite.

The Public Vote will open on 23rd February with the winners being announced at the glitzy gala final in Glasgow on Monday 13th November later this year.
Founder of the Scottish Fish and Chip Awards, Warren Paul, said: “We are thrilled to launch Scotland’s first ever Fish & Chip awards dedicated to the hard-working family businesses across Scotland. This event aims to reward excellence from Scotland’s favourite takeaway."
You can nominate and vote for your favourite Chippy now at the award website.
