Edinburgh Ryanair passengers shocked after part of cabin falls off during bumpy landing

Passengers at a Scots airport were left shocked after a part of the cabin fell off during landing.

Travellers and cabin crew on the 6.30am Ryanair service from Dublin to Edinburgh Airport were surprised when the overhead panel came crashing down during the bumpy touch down.

Edinburgh Live reports that passengers initially believed an overhead locker had opened and its contents fallen out before noticing the exposed wiring.

A passenger said: "We were sitting near the back of the plane. The back wheels hit the tarmac so hard the piece of the ceiling flew off.

"Initially we had thought the overhead bin had opened, until we saw the exposed wires. It didn’t hit anyone thankfully. People were shocked then there was nervous laughter and people started taking photos."

No injuries have been reported.

A spokesperson from Ryanair said: “There was no “incident” on this Dublin to Edinburgh flight (07 Dec) – one of the interior ceiling panels simply came loose and fell onto the cabin floor upon landing and was replaced by our engineers ahead of the next flight.”
