Edinburgh restaurant up for Best in Scotland prize at prestigious Golden Chopsticks Awards

An Edinburgh restaurant could land the title of Best Restaurant in Scotland in this year's Golden Chopsticks.

The prestigious awards, co-founded by TV personality Gok Wan, 'celebrates the enormous contribution of East and South East Asian cuisine to the UK catering industry and champion those who work within it.'

In recent weeks, the public have been casting their votes for their favourite Asian eateries across the UK, including in Scotland.

And today the organisers have announced the Best in Scotland shortlist, with one Edinburgh restaurant vying to land the top prize.

Thai Express Kitchen staff will be celebrating their inclusion after making it through to the final three alongside Glasgow's Nippon Kitchen and Oiishi in East Kilbride.

As we reported in November, the UK's first Thai Express Kitchen opened at the end of last year.

The popular Canadian brand known for its fresh take on traditional Thai cuisine centres on an open-plan kitchen, with expert wok chefs cooking to order and using fresh and seasonal produce.
