Edinburgh residents left with no bus as 'anti-social behaviour' sees services withdrawn

Residents in Gorebridge have been left without bus services after Lothian Buses pulled certain ones due to 'anti-social behaviour'.

It's understood that services are not currently stopping at the bus stop on Birkenside, and locals can only access services to Gore Avenue. This is one of a few changes Lothian Buses have made.

Some residents have suggested the Birkenside bus stop be pulled permanently, while others have suggested a ban on allowing children on without an adult. It's currently unclear how long the changes will be in place for.

A spokesperson for Lothian Buses said: "Lothian is committed to delivering safe, reliable public transport for all of our customers, and as such, operates a zero tolerance approach to anti-social behaviour.

"Over this weekend, services were withdrawn in certain areas to keep our customers and colleagues safe after incidents of sustained anti-social behaviour."

In August last year, a Lothian Bus driver was hit by a stone while passing through Gorebridge. In May, a service 29 had its top window shattered after a group of youths threw stones at the moving vehicle, with passengers onboard terrified after the incident.
