Edinburgh pub hits out at 'scum' who stole charity tin from crowded bar

A furious Edinburgh pub owner has hit out at two 'scumbags' who stole their charity tin.

The Bow Bar in Edinburgh has been raising money for an Anzac War Memorial but their charity box was nicked by two thieves last Sunday, June 12.

Hitting out at the crooks, pub chiefs shared footage of the pair brazenly nab the tin as one barman had his back turned.

Footage shared shows the pair eye up the donations before they even order a drink, deliberating how they would snatch it.

As they finish their pints, one of the thieves swipes the money before rushing out of the pub.

They even managed to burn through a rope that was attaching the tin to the bar, despite the pub being full of punters.

The Bow Bar bosses shared the footage on Twitter and described the pair as 'low life scum'.

They wrote: "These are the two ar******s who stole our collection tin off the bar last night for an ANZAC War memorial.

"They burnt through the rope with a lighter and snatched it."

It is currently unknown how much money was stolen during the heartless act.

Management reported the incident to police, who confirmed that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We received a report around 6.30pm on Sunday, June 12, of a sum of cash being stolen from a premises in West Bow, Edinburgh.

“Enquiries are ongoing."
