Edinburgh Police unveil adorable new trainee puppy recruit Tweed

Police Scotland have welcomed in a new fluffy recruit into their ranks as young pup Tweed gets ready to fight crime across the capital.

The adorable four legged crime fighter will start their journey at Fettes Dog Section after just being administered their high vis jacket and police hat.

Training Police Dog Tweed is an 11-week-old pooch and is said to be “full of beans.”

She is not currently on site at Fettes but was getting a taste for her new surroundings during a little induction section with the force.

For the time being she will be staying at home with Police Dog Juke and Police Dog Poppy - who will be showing her how to handle her new level of responsibility and teaching her everything she needs to know to carry out her job.

Edinburgh Police took to Twitter on the afternoon of June 10 and tweeted: “Fettes Dog Section had a new arrival this morning!

“Puppy #PDTweed is 11 weeks old & was full of beans when she arrived. She is living at home with PD Juke & PD Poppy who are showing her the ropes.”

Tweed can be seen in the pictures shared in front of her new uniform and will no doubt be stealing hearts as well as keeping the people of Edinburgh safe in the not so distant future.
