Edinburgh police has motorbike seized after being caught driving dangerously

An Edinburgh driver has been called out to by police after their bike was seized in Edinburgh.

Officers in the capital issued an appeal on social media for the rider to come forward after they were spotting driving dangerously in the area.

In a post on Sunday afternoon (July 31), police said they had observed the individual riding the black bike in the Niddrie area, before later confiscating it.

Now being stored at the local station in Craigmillar, officers explained they were now in possession of the electric vehicle, and asked the owner to come forward.

A tweet read: "#NECPT seized an electric Surron bike today in Niddrie after officers observed the rider driving dangerously.

"If this bike belongs to you please swing by Craigmillar station, police would love to have a chat with you..."

Earlier this week, officers in the area also shared they had reported another driver after he was pulled over on a motorcycle without insurance.

A further search discovered the 24-year-old was also in possession of drugs. A statement read:

"As part of a proactive patrol, plain-clothed officers from #NECPT stopped a 24-year-old man who was riding a motorcycle without insurance and whilst disqualified. He was searched and found to be in possession of £3,000 of class-A drugs.

"He has been reported to COPFS."
