It was a busy evening for officers in the north east of the city as they handed out 11 fixed penalty notices and conducted a positive drug search on a driver.
Police Scotland were responding to concerns from local residents and politicians in Leith who have grown frustrated with rule breaking drivers continuously turning onto Brunswick Road from Leith Walk.

Pedestrians crossing at green men were forced to dodge oncoming traffic on a junction that is situated close to a primary school.
Edinburgh City Council and the Trams to Newhaven project have since introduced traffic measures that better protect pedestrians however drivers have continued to make the illegal turn.
As a result, local officers have had to place themselves at the junction to try to clamp down on the behaviour.
On the evening of November 9, Edinburgh North East Police stopped 11 drivers and managed to successfully carry out a drug search on one motorist.
They posted on their Twitter: “Responding to community concerns #NECPT working with Special Constables from the North East Support Team #NEST have been conducting enforcement action at Brunswick Road this evening in relation to no left / right turn signage.
“11 drivers were issued with fixed penalty tickets. Officers also conducted a positive drugs search on a passenger.”
