A concerned Edinburgh shopper has said that they spotted a toddler that had been left in a car for around half an hour during the heat.
Police say that they had been alerted to concern from a member of the public for the young child's welfare at around 2.50pm on Wednesday, June 14.
The shopper claimed that they had spotted the child who had been left "inside the vehicle in hot sun for almost half an hour" at Fort Kinnaird car park in the Newcraighall area of the capital.

Police say that they attended the scene and gave advice to those involved but that no further action was taken as temperatures soared to 23C during the afternoon in Edinburgh.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.50pm on Wednesday, June 14, we received a report of a concern for a child in the Kinnaird Park area of Edinburgh. Enquiries were carried out and advice was given."
