Edinburgh pensioner caught with images of children after police raided his home

An Edinburgh pensioner was caught downloading sick videos of child abuse after a police raid on his home.

Charles Delworth was at home with his wife when cops swooped with a warrant to search his computer.

Officers uncovered the 65-year-old was in possession of dozens of twisted videos, including 35 at the Category A - or worst - level.

Delworth appeared at the city’s sheriff court on Tuesday and admitted possessing indecent images of children, reports the Daily Record.

Fiscal depute Anna Chisholm said police officers arrived at the accused’s home in the Leith area where he was with his wife.

Ms Chisholm said Delworth was questioned by officers and denied having seen any indecent material.

But the court heard how a device was forensically examined and 19 Category B videos and 16 Category C videos were identified, along with those at Category A.

Ms Chisholm said the images were not accessible, adding that Delworth had downloaded them then “deleted them shortly thereafter”.

Delworth pled guilty to possessing the images between July 6 and July 10 2019.

Sheriff Kenneth Campbell QC deferred sentence until next month for reports.

Delworth was placed on the sex offenders register.
