She started a wax melts fragrance business last year - including her signature miniature doughnuts - and it has gone from strength to strength with her unique designs and unbelievable scents.
And Kimberley knows all about intricate designs as well as how to create the perfect doughnut as she has been employed at Krispy Kreme since 2014 where she designs the icing on the sweet treats.
It was at Krispy Kreme where she met her partner and she confessed that it is her dream job and one she may never leave.
On the business and her favourite designs, she said: “I've been making my own wax for a little over a year now. I was sick of spending a fortune on branded wax and candles that lost their scent too quickly. I thought I'd try making my own, and they turned out great!
“I began selling to friends and family who loved them. So I’ve now branched out to selling them to a wider clientele.
“I've seen lots of people selling wax and candles on Facebook and they seemed to be pretty popular. Most of the wax sellers I see seem to be sticking to the standard wax melt bars, anyone that knows me, knows that I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I like to stick out. So I thought I'd create my wax melts in more appealing shapes and sizes.
“The inspiration for the doughnuts comes from my job, I absolutely LOVE doughnuts!
“I started working in Krispy Kreme at Hermiston Gait back in April 2014 which is where I met my partner.
“I'm a processor there so it's my job to hand decorate the doughnuts. I genuinely don't think I'll ever leave that place as the free doughnuts on shift are also too good to turn down.
“At the moment my list of scents is quite small compared to others, I didn't want to buy a million of them and then end up being overwhelmed. A lot of my scents I make are perfume/aftershave inspired.”
At the moment Kimberley has two different sizes of doughnut melts: mini and medium ones.
Alongside the doughnut melts - which should not be eaten regardless of how yummy they look - are a few other designs that Kimberley has created.
Her eye for detail and in depth research has meant that she is able to offer her customers extremely bespoke deals that fit with the modern market trends.
On the scents that do well for her business and the other ideas she has tried out, she said: “My favorite scent of all has to be banana. As you probably guessed, it smells just like bananas! It's one of my top sellers.
“I'd then say that my second and third favourites are Sauvage and Fantasy.
“Sauvage: has notes of Bergamot, cedar, and lavender. There's Ambroxan in it as well, so it feels like it has a weight and woodiness to it. Overall, it's a fresh, spicy sort of scent you won't get enough of. It smells very manly and is a great scent for cozy evenings indoors.
“Fantasy: It's a sensual and gourmand scent. It opens with a fruity mix of litchi, golden quince and kiwi. The provocative heart is composed of jasmine, white chocolate and cupcake. The base combines orris root, musk and woods. It's overall a sweet long lasting scent.
“My next goal is to get a website set up, but I haven't got a clue now to do that yet, so it is just the Facebook page for now.”
