Hair raising footage has been shared of a moped overtaking several cars by going into a lane of oncoming traffic.
The video which was captured by a driver via dashcam was shared by Twitter page, Mainly Edinburgh Stuff, and shows the moped overtaking two vehicles.
But as the moped rider, who does not appear to be wearing any high vis clothing, overtakes the black vehicle they can be seen going into a lane of oncoming traffic and navigating themselves past a pedestrian crossing island.

As they make this dangerous move, a car can be seen adjacent to them, and just as they try to re-enter the correct lane another car can be seen travelling at pace towards them.
Thankfully the moped and the oncoming car do not collide but the footage shows just how close the two vehicles came to a horrifying crash.
At the end of the clip, the moped rider can be seen racing off in front of the cars they had just terrifyingly overtaken.
The footage is understood to have been captured on Liberton Gardens on the evening of Monday August 8 or Tuesday August 9.
It is not known whether Police Scotland were contacted regarding the incident but the video has been shared in the hope of raising awareness regarding dangerous driving in the capital.
