The Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for rain, impacting Edinburgh and the surrounding areas over the next few days.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued a flood alert for Edinburgh and the Lothians today (November 17), with heavy downpours expected throughout the area.
Conditions will be very wet as we reach the end of the week, beginning with a steady stream of showers before persistent rainfall as we reach the latter part of Thursday. To torrential downpours are set to continue throughout Friday, with flooding likely across the east coast. Fifty to 70mm of rainfall is expected.

Announcing the warning, SEPA said: "This could lead to flooding impacts from rivers and surface water. Typical impacts could include flooding of property and agricultural land, roads and disruption to travel.
"Peak water levels are likely to occur between 8pm Thursday and 8pm Friday. Flood Warnings may be issued in the region highlighting localised areas at particular risk.
"SEPA will continue to monitor the situation and further updates will appear if the situation changes."
Things are set to dry up a little as Friday draws to an end, with dry but cool conditions on Saturday.

The warning comes into place on Thursday, November 17 at 3pm and will remain in place until 6pm on Friday (November 18).
