Plans for plush new homes to be built on the outskirts of Edinburgh have been thrown out for the second time over concerns about their impact on a castle dating to the 17th century.
Councillors upheld the decision to refuse permission for six houses at Castle Gogar Rigg after an appeal was launched.
Developers argued Castle Gogar's historic setting had already been impacted by the construction of new homes in the grounds of the A-listed building and that their application represented "continued and coordinated development" of the site by Edinburgh Airport.
