Edinburgh locals queue up the street for ice cream on freezing winter night

An Edinburgh ice cream parlour was spotted bringing in some serious business this week, as customers queued out the door for a scoop.

A number of people were seen crowding outside Alandas new shop on Forrest Road as they eagerly awaited a taste of the award-winning flavours.

Pictured on Monday evening (February 21) shortly before 9pm, the cold and windy February conditions didn't put customers off the wait to get to the counter.

Inside the shop was also seen looking just as busy, as staff worked hard to get everyone's sweet tooths satisfied as quickly as possible.

Opening just a few months ago, the family-run business has already made quite the impact in Edinburgh, following the success of their ice cream parlour and chip shop in East Lothian.

Hand-making all of their gelato in-store each day, the shop was completely re-fitted last year to transform it from a former Simply-Fix-It into the beautiful new eatery.

As well as ice cream, customers were also seen leaving with some hot drinks, including the shop's hot chocolate created with a pure chocolate tap set up inside.
