Bizarre pictures of the rugby posts at Sighthill Park have left one local puzzled at an important missing feature.
Pictures of Sighthill Park, featuring the newly painted lines of the rugby pitch were posted to Twitter on August 19. However, the pitch appeared to be missing something, the crossbar on the rugby post appeared to be gone.
The bewildered local queried the missing sports equipment online with Edinburgh leisure, asking why the crossbar for the rugby pitch was gone. In the images, you can even see the notches on which the bar would normally rest.

The poster said: “Over at Sighthill Park today and the rugby pitches look to have been relatively newly painted.....shame about the posts. Do you get the crossbar once you've paid for the pitch? “
Edinburgh Leisure, who operate Sighthill Park, commented under the post to shine a light on the peculiar missing crossbar. Saying that due to ongoing vandalism in the area, they are forced to keep the crossbar down outside of the rugby season.
A representative from Edinburgh Leisure said: “Hi, unfortunately the cross bars are taken down outwith the season due to constant vandalism. They will be up once the season starts.”
