Edinburgh locals were left baffled this afternoon, April 1, after multiple jets were pictured flying over the city.
Locals took to social media in an attempt to get answers after around seven jets were seen flying high in the sky, back and forth over the city, at around 1pm.
Around the same time, the Queen's helicopter was captured landing at Holyrood Park, but is it unconfirmed if the two incidents are linked.

The jets appeared to fly over the city twice within a small period of time - leaving white criss-crossed trails smeared above the capital.
The crystal clear blue sky presented a great opportunity for those in Edinburgh to capture the perfect footage of the jets, at lunchtime today, with multiple eye witnesses taking to Twitter to upload their photos and ask the same question: 'Does anyone know what's going on'?
One user said: "Anything interesting happening in air over Edinburgh past hour, or is it just an oligarch hiding their PJ's."
Another tweeted: "An assortment of military-looking aircraft heading north west as seen from Edinburgh looking towards Fife a short while ago."
Flight Radar, the handy online gismo used to track the flight paths of aircrafts all over the world, also had no information of the jets seen flying over the capital, sparking additional curiosity with locals.
A source from the RAF told Edinburgh Live that the Royal Air Force were not involved and that indications suggest that it was US Air Force activity out of Lakenheath or Mildenhall, heading north before heading over the pond to the US.
