Drumbrae Leisure Centre's pool, sauna and changing rooms is set to close for around 12 weeks at the end of June with the Edinburgh Leisure venue set to undergo essential maintenance.
The closure will begin from Monday, June 26 and will run until September. Customers who have a membership at the centre will be upgraded so that they are able to use services elsewhere in the city.
Edinburgh Leisure say that the summer holidays are some of their quietest months for venues as families tend to go abroad or enjoy outdoor activities instead of using the centre’s pool.

It is understood that the organisation reviewed usage numbers and the patterns of use to ensure that the time of their closure would have the least impact on their users.
Edinburgh Leisure say that the planned works include replacing the air handling unit in the pool area which will help them to become more sustainable.
They add that they will be replacing grout and broken tiles around the pool side as well as redesigning the floor and drains in the pool shower area. There will also be minor decoration upgrades in the pool hall.
Swim users who have used Drumbrae pool in the last three months and Drumbrae Aquafit customers who have attended a class in the last three months, will have their membership upgraded to a full fitness membership during this time.
An Edinburgh Leisure spokesperson said: “Drumbrae pool, sauna and pool changing rooms will be closed for essential maintenance from Monday, June 26, 2023 for approximately 12 weeks.
“We carry out these repairs during the summer months, as this tends to be when our venues are quieter.
“As part of the ‘biggest club in town’, we’ve upgraded those customers who will be affected by the closure, so they can continue keeping active with us at other venues across the city.
“So, wherever you’re at on the map or in life, Edinburgh Leisure is here to help you enjoy a healthier, happier, and more active life.”
An earlier version of this article stated the gym would be closing - this is not the case.
