A rapist who carried out a horrific sex attack on a vulnerable neighbour has been found dead in jail. David Reid, 63, pounced on the woman at her Corstorphine home.
He was armed with a knife when he menaced: "If you don't shut up, I will slit your throat." Reid admitted the October 2017 rape and was handed an order for lifelong restriction (OLR) at the High Court in Glasgow.
Judge Lord Clark ordered he serve a minimum of four years and three months in September 2019. It has now emerged Reid died last week at HMP Edinburgh.
