An Edinburgh vlogger and travel TV presenter has received an honoury citizenship to the city of San Antonio in Texas.
Shaun Alexander received the honour in a ceremony outside the Alamo, an 18th century Spanish mission and fortress compound, on Sunday, May 29, before being piped into the famous battlefield site for a private tour by members of the Scottish Society of San Antonio.
Shaun is currently on a tour of the USA and is documenting some of the many Scottish communities he encounters throughout the states for his YouTube channel.

The award was presented by Viscount Dunrossil, Andrew Morrison, and signed by the City's Mayor, Ron Nirenberg, saying that Shaun "enjoys a place of high esteem in the minds and hearts of the people of the city."
"Texas is a place I’m fascinated by and I have enjoyed telling its story. I was amazed to learn how many Scots - or those with Scottish ancestry - fought and died at the Alamo. Consequently, many people here feel a deep connection with Scotland," the blogger commented.
He continued: "Receiving this Honorary Citizenship was truly unexpected. For me, I am just delighted to be here in Texas to try and narrow the gap between Scotland and the many Texans who celebrate their Scottish ancestry through my videos. San Antonio will always hold a special place in my heart and I am truly overwhelmed by the warm welcome I’ve received while out here.
"The city is grieving following the tragic events in nearby Uvalde, but I am am enthused by the resolve of local people, who have rallied around the community and are debating solutions to gun violence."
As well as posting regular videos on his YouTube account with 177k subscribers, Shaun has also presented segments in travel documentaries for the Travel Channel, ITV, Channel Five, and is a commentator on BBC News segments.
Lord Dunrossil, Viscount Andrew Morrison, who presented Shaun with the award, has lived in San Antonio for three decades and is closely involved with various organisations dedicated to strengthening the ties between Scotland and its Diaspora.
