A flood warning has been issued for the city of Edinburgh on Monday, as heavy rainfall is forecasted across the capital.
According to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) website, heavy thundery showers could cause flooding issues in the capital today.
Any flooding impacts are likely to be localised and not all areas will be affected. Impacts may include flooding to low-lying land and roads, with difficult driving conditions.

Urban areas and the transport network are particularly at risk, and ground conditions are currently very dry which may increase surface water runoff.
The border for the flood warning stretches into East and West Lothian as well, ending in the Shotts district and stretching all the way to Dunbar on the east coast.
SEPA has also issued some tips on how to handle excess rainfall and what to do if your home is affected from the flooding. Read on below for more information.
Before a flood
You should check if your home could be at risk of flooding. Flooding can affect more than just your property, it may impact on your community or your route to work.
Use SEPA's Flood Maps here to find out if you're in an area at risk of flooding caused by rivers, the sea or surface water.
You should also check if you are flood insured for your home.
During a flood
Flooding can affect many aspects of life, including home, travel and telephone lines. These are the do's and don'ts during a flood in your area.
- Do not walk, drive or swim through flood water
- Do avoid any form of direct contact with flood water as it could be contaminated
- Do not use any electrical appliances
- Do move to higher ground and wait for the emergency services to find you
- Do co-operate with emergency services and your local authority who are responsible for co-ordinating relief measures
After a flood
You should contact your insurance company if your home has been damaged by the excess rainfall. If it is safe to do so, take photographs of the damage caused to your home and valuables.
You should also be aware of the health affects caused by a flood. Wear appropriate clothing and protection as flood water can be contaminated with harmful bacteria and be mindful of how the stress and traumatic feelings of loss can have an impact on a person's mental wellbeing.
If repairs need to be made, consider making improvements to make your property more flood resilient.
