Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon had quite the busy weekend - welcoming a new baby son and turning out for his country.
The stopper nearly missed the Scottish Nations League game against Ireland for the birth of his second child with wife Summer Harl.
Axel Ever Gordon was born at 7am on Saturday. A little over 12 hours later, Craig Gordon was back on the pitch to help secure the Nations League win against Ireland.
Craig Gordon dedicated his Hampden heroics to his newborn baby boy after a whirlwind 24 hours. The 39-year-old Hearts player said his son is the youngest member of the Tartan Army as well as the nation’s lucky charm.
On Monday, Harl officially announced the birth of the tiniest member of the Gordon family: “At 6.56am on Saturday, our boy finally made an appearance. Axel Ever Gordon. 24.09.22. 9lb 4oz. He is everything and more."
Gordon is also a dad to two daughters from his previous relationship. Gordon and Harl have been together since 2017 after Gordon’s divorce from his first wife of eight years.
Harl is a fashion, life, travel and motherhood blogger. According to her Instagram bio, she is “somewhere between nappy changes and getting my nails done.” The couple’s first child, Ace Harlow Gordon, is a little over one and a half years old.
