Edinburgh Food Festival 2022 announces celebrity chefs and headline music acts

Edinburgh Food Festival 2022 has announced top celebrity chefs and artists performing on the music stage for this year's event.

The festival returns after being cancelled at the last minute last year, and they promise a range of new features including the Children's Cookery School.

The touring Foodies Festival, dubbed the “Gastro-Glasto” as it makes its way to venues across the UK, is coming to Edinburgh's Inverleith Park for the three day event from August 5 to 7.

Tickets can be snapped up at £19 for a day pass, or £38 for the three day festival.

Featuring MasterChef champions, stars of Great British Bake-Off and Michelin starred chefs, the event is highly anticipated by Edinburgh foodies.

The award-winning chefs and bakers taking part this summer, include: MasterChef: The Professionals 2021 champion, Daniel Lee, MasterChef 2021 champion, Tom Rhodes and MasterChef: The Professionals 2021 finalist and chef, Liam Rogers, from two Michelin starred restaurant, Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles.

The music line-up includes: Rising Scottish singer-songwriter, Callum Beattie. Callum’s debut studio album ‘People Like Us,’ went to number 1 on the Scottish Physical Album Charts and featured the powerful track ‘Salamander Street’, with the accompanying video shot on the streets of Edinburgh.

At the three-day festival, visitors can enjoy the Chefs’ Theatre, Cake & Bake Theatre, Drinks Theatre, Shopping Village with award winning artisan producers, Street Food Avenue, Feasting Tent, Cook Book Shop, Kids’ Cookery School, fairground, live music stage and family-friendly areas with activities for children.

And new for Friday, Foodies launch their ‘Big Party Night’ - taking a nostalgia-filled trip back to the 90s, featuring, N-Trance, one of the biggest selling UK dance acts of the era. More acts are to be announced.

A legion of chefs from Michelin-starred and highly acclaimed restaurants will give the festival a distinctive local flavour, including: Scotland’s National Chef, Gary McClean, the champion of MasterChef: The Professionals 2016 and chef-patron of Creel Caught in Edinburgh, Dan Ashmore, executive head chef at Gordon Ramsay’s new Bread Street Kitchen and from three AA Rosette awarded restaurant, Dean Banks, at the Pompadour.

Also appearing across the 3-day weekend, multi award-winning chef-patron, Paul Wedgwood from Wedgewood the Restaurant and chef-patron and author, Mark Greenaway from Grazing by Mark Greenaway at the Waldorf Astoria.

The high-profile festival has announced thrilling new features and a busy programme of events, in the quest to deliver an unforgettable weekend of fine food, new experiences and exceptional quality, promising a great family day out.

Early Bird adult day tickets are priced at £19, or on the door for £25, and the weekend ticket costs £38, or on the door at £47.

Children aged 12 and under go free when accompanied by an adult.
