A video shared by a concerned resident appears to show smoke rising from the ground at the edge of the astro turf football pitch at Saughton Park.
The footage which has been shared with Edinburgh Live appears to show two patches where smoke is rising from the grass surrounding the enclosure at around 17:20pm.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) have confirmed that they are in attendance and dealing with the issue and it is not known exactly how the fires broke out.

Edinburgh is experiencing some high temperatures today - Wednesday August 10 - with the MET office showing 26 degrees celsius across the city centre.
A worried park user, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “It happened at circa 17:20 today. I've actually no idea what caused it.
“It was most likely some discarded glass or plastic. There was nobody near it when I walked into the park.”
“It looks like it is just a dry grass fire. They happen on railway embankments all the time.
“It can happen when grass that isn't cut eventually dies and dries out. It's the bit of dead grass right against the fence that isn't mowed that burned.”
A spokesperson for the SFRS said: “We are aware of an incident at Saughton Park and are in attendance at the site.”
