Edinburgh firefighter dies in hospital after battling blaze at former Jenners store

A firefighter who was rushed to hospital following a horror blaze at the former Jenners building in Edinburgh has died.

Police have confirmed that 38-year-old Barry Martin sadly passed away after being in critical condition in hospital following the fire on Monday, January 23.

Officers say Barry was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he died on Friday, January 27.
