Edinburgh voters have gone to the polls to pick 63 councillors to represent them in the City Chambers for the next five years.
Dogs, A-boards, and all the usual election hallmarks were observed right across the city as dry and warm weather held out for those making the journey to their local polling station.
The early story of the day was how noticeably quiet many of the polling stations were, something seen at other council areas across Scotland.
