Leith Walk is set to close northbound to traffic just days after opening up both lanes.
The stretch of road down Leith has been under a huge redevelopment as tram lines and new cycle paths have been put in place. After three years of disruption the roads reopened on February 14, to the delight of locals and business owners in the area.
However, Leith Walk will be closed from 7pm on Thursday, February 16 until Friday morning as rail grinding works are taking place.

Lothian Buses have warned that buses will be diverted as the road will be shut between Pilrig Street and the Foot of the Walk from 7pm on Thursday until 3am on Friday.
On their website, the bus operator explains:
- Services 7 14 N14 Northbound – between Leith Walk and Great Junction Street, buses will be diverted via Pilrig Street and Bonnington Road heading northbound only.
- Services 16 N16 N22 Northbound – between Leith Walk and Henderson Street, buses will be diverted via Pilrig Street, Bonnington Road and Great Junction Street heading northbound only.
- Services 25 49 Northbound – between Antigua Street and Vanburgh Place, buses will be diverted via London Road and Easter Road heading northbound only.
This comes as the Newhaven extension is due to open in the next few months. The effects of the tram works in Leith have been highlighted by many with disruption to pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.
