Edinburgh cyclist rushed to hospital after two bikes collide on busy road

An Edinburgh woman has been rushed to hospital after two cyclists collided on Saturday morning (February 19).

Both police and ambulance services had raced to the scene on Piersfield Terrace after reports of the incident at around 10.40am.

Officers have stated that the collision involved two cyclists on the busy road, which runs as part of the route between Meadowbank and Portobello.

Speaking on Saturday afternoon, police also confirmed one of the individuals involved was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

Her condition is currently unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a collision between two cyclists on Piersfield Terrace in Edinburgh around 10.40am on Saturday, 19 February.

“A woman has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh following the incident.”
