When she got to her door, the app had just updated to say the food had been delivered and she was shocked to see her noodles spilt across her doorstep. The packaging was also ripped and the food had only been sitting there for a minute as Lauren saw the driver leave.
The customer then complained to the food delivery service and claims it's not the first time her dinner has turned up in damaged packaging leaving it inedible.
Images show the Dr Noodles dish splattered across the concrete doorstop and brittle doormat. The brown paper bag is also ripped which the food was packaged in.
Speaking to Edinburgh Live Lauren said: "On this occasion, I ordered from Dr Noodles and the order arrived in 50 minutes which isn’t too bad as the restaurant is a 15-minute drive from me.
"I popped to the shop that’s two to three minutes away in the car, and I noticed the driver was turning into my street (app tracking) so I messaged to say 'please leave on my doorstep I’ve just popped out'. The driver left a note back.
"As I was pulling up to my driveway, the delivery driver had just got back into his car and drove away. So the bag sat there for no more than 20-30 seconds."
She continued: "The image is exactly as I found it. I reported the problem to Deliveroo with the image attached and they asked if I’d like a credit or a full refund.
"I asked for credit so I could order something else for dinner! I accepted that the juice was acceptable so if we remove that from the order, the original order amount was £22.66 inc. service and delivery fee + £0.10 for the paper bag.
"I was given a £19.78 refund from Deliveroo."
Deliveroo apologised to Hannah and offered a refund. Edinburgh Live have also approached Deliveroo for comment.
