Edinburgh couple lose life-long dream on The Wall leaving viewers 'traumatised'

An Edinburgh couple were left gutted after they missed out on winning £50,000 on The Wall.

One of BBC One's newer gameshows, couple Brian and his partner Jenna had travelled down from the capital to play for the prize fund.

Airing this week, viewers were devastated for the pair as they shared their dream of buying a specialised motorhome to take their autistic son on holiday.

Parents to Hadley, eight, and Blake, six, Brian and Jenna had slowly managed to build up a substantial amount of cash, with £48,950 eventually sitting in the prize fund.

A life-changing sum of money, the married couple came painstakingly close to getting their hands on the prize, but their dreams were dashed at the last moment.

Expecting the family to leave with the money, the audience quickly fell silent as the red balls left them with nothing in the bank.

With the pair looking extremely emotional, the Sun reports that fans were just as gutted for the family.

Danny Dyer said: “That’s the thing about this game. It can be so kind but one ball takes it all away.

“They leave here with no money but Hadley and Blake should be very proud of their parents.”

Social media users were quick to sympathise, with one writing: “Bloody hell, that poor couple.”

Another wrote: “Can we chip in to get them a motorhome? Really wanted them to win big.”

A third tweeted: “First time watching #TheWall what a horrible programme I’m traumatised.”

Another said: “Come on motor home companies, you know what you have to do!”
